Inaugural MEBDI Lecture on Big Data in Economics

The Inaugural MEBDI Lecture on Big Data was delivered in-person by Patrick Bajari at the University of Minnesota. The title of his lecture was “The Use of Big Data in Industry: A View from the Front Lines.”

Patrick Bajari is Vice President and Chief Economist at Amazon, and a former professor of Economics at the University of Minnesota. Since joining in 2010, he has helped Amazon build teams in econometrics, machine learning and research science. 

Pat is also an alum of the University of Minnesota, receiving his B.S in Economics and Math (1992) and his PhD in Economics (1997). During his visit, Pat also gave lectures to undergraduate and graduate economics students.
